Mounir Nasraoui, father of Barcelona footballer Lamine Yamal, was stabbed in a parking lot in Mataró, Barcelona. Lamine Yamal, who was born in Esplugues de Llobregat but raised in Rocafonda, often makes a hand gesture signifying the number ‘304,’ representing the postal code of his neighborhood. Despite his success on the football field, his connection to his roots in Mataró remains strong. The footballer continues to train with FC Barcelona, maintaining regular contact with his family while his father recovers.

Circumstances Surrounding the Arrests

Shortly after the assault, three men were detained by the Mossos d’Esquadra on suspicion of involvement in the attack. The investigation revealed that an earlier confrontation between the suspects and Nasraoui escalated into violence later in the evening. According to witnesses, the conflict began earlier in the day when Nasraoui had an altercation with the suspects. The situation intensified when the men confronted Nasraoui again, throwing water at him before launching the fatal attack.

Nasraoui’s Condition and Public Response

Nasraoui’s injuries include two stab wounds to the abdomen and a third to the chest. Although these wounds came close to critical organs, they did not result in life-threatening damage. He remains in the ICU, receiving oxygen support for a pneumothorax caused by the attack. For now, hospital authorities have opted to keep Nasraoui in the ICU to ensure his privacy and that of other patients.

Lamine Yamal’s Response and Support

In the middle of his father’s ordeal, Lamine Yamal has received overwhelming support from his Barcelona teammates. Although he has not yet visited his father in the hospital, he remains in close communication with his family. Nasraoui has expressed gratitude for the public’s support, sharing a message on Instagram thanking everyone for their well-wishes: ‘Thanks to everyone for your encouragement, I’m feeling better now. A big hug to you all,’ he wrote, accompanied by a heart emoji.

As the investigation continues, the four suspects remain in custody, awaiting court appearances for attempted homicide charges. Meanwhile, Mounir Nasraoui’s recovery is being closely monitored, and Lamine Yamal continues to focus on his football career while staying in touch with his family during this difficult time.
