Good news for drivers in Spain: fuel prices have taken a dive recently, making things a bit easier for your wallet. Both petrol and diesel have dropped significantly in the past few weeks, giving consumers a reason to smile.

Fuel Prices Falling in Spain

Diesel has dropped by 5.6% since July, hitting its lowest point of the year. Right now, diesel costs €1.424 per litre, and 95-octane petrol is down by 5.2%, at €1.521 per litre. These are the lowest prices we’ve seen since early February.

Fuel Bargains Across Spain

With the summer season wrapping up, service stations have been adjusting their prices. In some areas, you can find diesel for under €1.10 per litre, and 95-octane petrol is available for less than €1.30 in at least 11 provinces. For instance, in Gran Canaria, petrol is going for €1.04 per litre, and in Navarra, it’s €1.07.

Comparing Fuel Prices in Spain to Last Year

A 55-litre tank of petrol now costs around €85.25—about €10 less than this time last year. Diesel has also dropped, with a 55-litre tank now costing about €78, compared to €89.10 in September last year.

Spain and Portugal: A Bit Cheaper Than Most

Across Europe, Spain and Portugal have petrol and diesel prices that are a bit cheaper than average. Compared to places like Denmark and the Netherlands, where prices are higher, Spain and Portugal are a bit kinder on your budget. Bulgaria and Poland also have lower prices, showing just how varied fuel costs can be across Europe. With these falling prices, it’s a great time for drivers in Spain to save a bit more on fuel.
