Multiple Injuries Reported in Axe Attack in Ibiza

Four people were injured, one seriously, when attacked by a man wielding an axe at the Botafoc Maritime Station on the Balearic Island of Ibiza on Saturday night July 6.

According to SAMU 061, the incident occurred around 11:14 pm on Saturday when a man, whose age and nationality are unknown, assaulted four people at the Botafoc Maritime Station. Among the victims was reportedly the captain of a boat, believed to be where the assailant originated from, SAMU 061 added. Initially, it was reported that the attack involved a bladed weapon, but it was later clarified to have been carried out with an axe.

Upon receiving the 112 emergency call, the Central Coordination of Medical Emergencies (CCUM) dispatched an advanced life support ambulance and a basic life support ambulance to the scene to assist the wounded.

The most seriously injured is a 65-year-old man, who sustained an approximately eight-centimeter-long wound extending from the occipital area to the left earlobe. After stabilizing the victim, he was transported in critical condition to Clínica Virgen del Rosario.

Additionally, three other people sustained minor injuries and were transported to Can Misses Hospital for treatment.
