Escape to the Countryside: 5 Farm Stays in Spain for the Ultimate Rural Retreat

There’s just something really special about trading all the city noise for the chill vibe of life on a farm. You can just imagine it—the smell of olive trees at sunset, the faint sound of chickens clucking away, and that cosy feeling you get from bread that just came out of the oven. These are the kinds of little experiences that stick with you long after you’ve left.

Spain is a beautiful place, with its sunny landscapes and strong farming traditions, making it a top spot for farm stays in Europe. From the rolling hills of Andalucía to the wild scenery of Menorca, these getaways mix a cosy, rustic feel with modern comforts. They’re perfect for travellers looking to relax, explore, and enjoy the great outdoors.

Check out these five amazing farm stays that offer fun, relaxation, and a real taste of life in the Spanish countryside.

1.Hacienda de San Rafael, Andalucía: A Luxurious Andalusian Dream

Where Rustic Charm Meets Modern Comfort

Tucked away between Sevilla and Jerez, Hacienda de San Rafael is a 450-year-old farmhouse that’s been transformed into a cosy agroturismo getaway. With its classic white walls, terracotta roofs, and beautiful gardens filled with tall palm trees, this spot has a lovely old-school feel while still offering all the modern comforts.

The Stay: Suites That Feel Like Private Villas

Forget about those tiny hotel rooms! Here, the smallest suites are a roomy 40m², and each one comes with its own sitting area and a private terrace. But the real stars of the show are the 120m² thatched cottages. They’ve got private gardens and you can dip into an infinity pool that’s only shared with a few other guests. How cool is that?

Marble bathrooms, antique furniture, and carefully chosen artworks, the place has a classy vibe. It feels like you’re tucked away from everything, but you’re actually only a quick 30-minute drive from the busy streets of Sevilla.

Feast on Farm-to-Table Andalusian Cuisine

The hacienda has this awesome organic garden that provides the restaurant with super fresh herbs, fruits, and veggies, making the dishes really burst with flavour. You can kick off your day enjoying some local cheeses, Iberian ham, and warm pastries straight out of the oven. Chill by the pool with some tasty tapas, and then wrap up the day with a fancy multi-course dinner under the stars, all while enjoying as much local wine as you want.

Adventures Beyond the Farm

How about going horseback riding in the Doñana Nature Reserve? It’s such a cool spot and perfect for spotting rare birds. You could also dive into some olive oil tastings and join cooking classes with local chefs, a great way to learn some tasty dishes! And don’t forget about day trips to Jerez to check out the sherry bodegas or to check out the golden beaches in Cádiz. Sounds like a fun time, right?

Quick tip: This spot is just for adults (so you need to be at least 12 to stay here), which makes it a great choice for couples or anyone traveling alone who wants to chill out.

Ten beautiful rooms, each with a private terrace or balcony, offer unfussy comfort. The vibe is authentically rural, with wooden beams, white linens, and sweeping views of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park.

The farm-to-table restaurant serves hearty mountain dishes, best enjoyed on the terrace as the sun dips behind the peaks.
