Mango Founder Isak Andic Dies in Montserrat Hiking Accident
Isak Andic, founder of the renowned fashion brand Mango, tragically passed away at the age of 71 following a hiking accident in the Montserrat mountain range near Barcelona. On Saturday afternoon, December 14, while trekking near the Salnitre Caves in Collbató, Andic slipped and fell over 100 meters into a ravine. Despite efforts by emergency responders, including a medical helicopter and ambulance, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident occurred in a challenging section of the trail, which is known for its steep drops and rugged terrain. Andic, an avid hiker in excellent physical condition, was accompanied by his son, Jonathan, who alerted emergency services. The Mossos d’Esquadra police force is investigating the circumstances of the accident.
