Manhunt Underway Following a Crossbow Attack Kills Three Women in the UK

A manhunt is in progress for Kyle Clifford, a 26-year-old from Enfield, in connection with the deaths of three women in Bushey, Hertfordshire. The victims, Carol Hunt, 61, and her two daughters, Hannah Hunt, 28, and Louise Hunt, 25, were the wife and daughters of BBC and Sky racing commentator John Hunt. The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday evening July 9, with the suspect believed to be armed with a crossbow.

The authorities were alerted to the scene just before 7 p.m. local time on Tuesday. Upon arrival, police and paramedics found the three women with severe injuries. Despite immediate medical efforts, all three victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Authorities Warn Public: Kyle Clifford Armed and Dangerous

Hertfordshire Police have since launched an extensive search for Clifford, warning the public not to approach him as he may be in possession of a crossbow. The police have described the attack as targeted but have not clarified the relationship between Clifford and the Hunt family.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community and the broader public, given John Hunt’s prominence as a sports commentator. Hunt, 58, who has worked with BBC Radio Five Live for two decades and is a former police officer, was reportedly working at the time of the incident. He is believed to have discovered the horrific scene upon returning home around 7 p.m.

Neighbours recounted hearing alarming screams from the Hunt residence on Ashlyn Close. One resident described the chaos that ensued, with armed police arriving swiftly and ordering residents to stay indoors. The neighborhood was effectively placed on lockdown as police secured the area and began their investigation.

In response to the incident, Hertfordshire Police have deployed armed officers and specialist search teams across multiple locations in north London and Hertfordshire. This high-priority operation aims to apprehend Clifford and ensure public safety.
