Spotify Down in Spain

Spotify, one of the world’s most popular music streaming services, is currently down in Spain. Users across the country and around the world are reporting problems with both the mobile app and the web version. According to Downdetector, a platform that tracks digital service outages, the issue began around 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16.

People trying to play their favourite music or podcasts are seeing error messages such as ‘this playlist could not be found,’ or are simply unable to load content at all. The outage appears to be affecting all types of content, including both free and premium accounts.

No Official Statement Yet from Spotify

So far, Spotify has not released any official information explaining what has caused the problem. The company, which was founded in 2006, usually responds quickly to technical issues, but users are still waiting for updates.

This unexpected downtime has caused frustration for millions who use the app daily to listen to music and podcasts while working, commuting, or relaxing at home.

The only information so far is a banner across the website which reads:

‘We are currently working to resolve some issues on Spotify.com.
The wait time to speak with an operator is longer than usual. In the meantime, you can visit our community’s open issues page to check the current status.

In Spain, the platform has a strong user base, making this outage especially noticeable. Many users have taken to social media to share their concerns and look for solutions.

Users Hoping for a Quick Fix

At the moment, there is no clear timeline for when service will be fully restored. Until then, users are encouraged to check Spotify’s social media accounts and the Downdetector website for real-time updates.
