What is ‘The Bookshelf with Ryan Tubridy’ about?
This podcast is quite new, at the time of writing it has released just three episodes. Ryan Tubridy an Irish TV and radio presenter interviews authors. The conversation is based around the guests favourite childhood book, the book that made them cry and the book that changed their life. At the end of the conversation Tubridy finishes the show with the Ryan recommends slot where he shares a book recommendation.

The podcast is easy to listen to, Tubridy’s interview style honed over the years is free flowing and relaxed. He puts the authors at ease and it is clear to the listener that he has a good relationship with the guests and a love of books. So far the guests have included David Walliams, English writer, actor and comedian. Cecelia Ahern, the Irish author well known for her debut novel ‘PS I Love You’. And John Boyne renowned for his novel ‘The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.’
Overall Impression
The concept of the podcast introduces the listener to a variety of books they may never have thought of reading. Moreover, it gives insights into the guests at every stage of their lives as they inevitably discuss the period of their life related to the book in question.
