Viral Video: Dangerous Wedding Celebration on the C-32
A driver recently recorded a video in Cataluña that has gone viral, showing a convoy of vehicles with people hanging halfway out of the cars, speeding along the C-32 motorway through the area of Mataró, in Maresme.
Police Investigation Underway
So far, the Mossos d’Esquadra (the police force in Cataluña), have been unable to locate the vehicles or their drivers, although the video is widely circulated and the license plates are clearly visible. The Catalan police have confirmed that they have opened an investigation to clarify the facts and determine what happened. The clear footage will assist the police in identifying the individuals involved and potentially charging them with traffic safety offenses depicted in the video.
Details of the Incident
The video shows a total of six vehicles with people outside the cars, though other vehicles are also part of the convoy. All the individuals hanging out of the vehicles appear to be men, some wearing red clothing. Among the cars are a couple of Porsches and other high-end vehicles, all bearing Spanish license plates. Initial indications suggest that the celebration is related to a Muslim wedding, a detail that the Mossos’ investigation aims to confirm.
Official Statements and Actions
The Mossos d’Esquadra’s Traffic Division has begun investigations to clarify the incident. The Interior Minister, Joan Ignasi Elena, confirmed this recently from Manresa, where he presented a new police station. The minister expressed confidence that the individuals involved would be identified and that the recorded events have a ‘criminal dimension.’
